Large Sports Natatorium Building Sand Table Model Production Case

In urban planning exhibition halls, sports cultural and tourism exhibitions and architectural achievement exchange scenarios, high-precision architectural sand table models serve as the core carrier to intuitively display the main venue building, facade shape, internal swimming pool layout and supporting auxiliary facilities. This custom large sports natatorium building sand table model adopts more than 90% structural restoration and exquisite craftsmanship. It fully reproduces the special-shaped facade of the natatorium, the track layout of the indoor swimming pool, surrounding roads and greenery, as well as the supporting equipment units at the rear, restoring the overall planning form and functional zones of the venue, helping customers efficiently show the advantages of sports building projects in exhibition halls and trade shows.

1. Demand Sorting and Preliminary Preparation

The customer’s requirement focuses on static display scenarios. The model needs to accurately restore the overall architectural outline of the natatorium, polygonal curtain wall facade, internal pool marking lines, surrounding urban roads, green landscape and auxiliary power equipment area. It is suitable for long-term display in exhibition halls and transportation for exhibitions, taking both lighting visual effects and overall structural stability of the sand table into consideration. We first disassemble the project design drawings and renderings, and divide the model into four core modules: main natatorium building module, internal swimming pool site module, outdoor road and green landscape module, rear supporting equipment tank and unit module, clarifying the production proportion and visual display focus of each module.

2. Material Selection and Model Production Process

We select model-making materials according to the prototype of the natatorium building. The main building frame is manufactured, and the irregular polygonal curtain wall texture of the facade is carved to restore the unique appearance of the building. The bottom plate of the swimming pool is finely processed inside, with track lines and marks depicted. The simulated pavement is built outside, with landscape components such as street trees and lawn laid. The supporting industrial equipment models such as cooling towers and storage tanks at the rear are made separately. After finishing all components, we carry out overall assembly and adjust the landscape layout. The whole surface is polished and trimmed, painted in different colors, and matched with contour lighting to set off the texture of the building. We refine building splicing gaps and landscape details to complete the assembly of the whole natatorium sand table model.

3. Finished Product Effect and Display Application

After assembly, the sports natatorium sand table achieves a high restoration rate. The characteristic curtain wall building, swimming pool site, roads, greenery and supporting equipment are complete in details, which can intuitively display the overall planning layout of the aquatic sports venue. The model has a solid structure and rich landscape layers. It is suitable for long-term display in urban planning pavilions, cultural and sports exhibitions and enterprise exhibition halls of design institutes. It can also be used for sports construction project promotion and urban construction achievement exchange. This natatorium building sand table model can intuitively show the planning and design characteristics of large public sports buildings and reduce the threshold for explaining project plans. It is a core exhibit for display in urban exhibition halls. We undertake custom production of various public building sand table models, and can adjust the proportion and appearance details according to project drawings to create model works suitable for various display scenarios.
